- There is enough Wind Resource where you live
As a first Step Wind Resource Maps can be used to estimate the resource in your area.

The Endurance Wind Turbine is able to produce energy at a Class 2 Wind Speed, starting at 8 - 10mph.
- You have enough space for a Wind Turbine
A residential wind turbine can be a relatively large device, needs to be high above nearby buildings and mature tree lines, and often must abide by zoning laws. This means small wind systems are very seldom, if ever, suitable for urban or small-lot suburban applications. A property size of one acre or more is desirable.
Endurance wind power turbines are specially designed as tilt-up tower systems and they come standard in the following four heights: 63 FT, 84FT, 105 FT, and 126 FT .
The taller the tower, the better.Towers this tall are necessary to raise the wind turbine above turbulence generated by obstacles on the ground and trees. Wind speed increases with height above ground, and increasing speed increases wind power exponentially. Thus, relatively small investments in increased tower height can yield very high rates of return in power production.
As a general rule, you should install a Wind Turbine on a tower that is at a minimum 30 feet above ANY obstacle within 300 Feet

- My Local Government will allow me to install a Wind Turbine
A wind turbine is a tall structure that normally requires a building permit. Zoning regulations often limit the height, placement, and other characteristics of "appurtenant" structures, so a conditional (special) use permit or variance may be necessary. It's usually best to let your neighbors know about your installation ahead of time. Be prepared to answer questions and clear up common misconceptions with well-documented facts about small wind turbines.
- You Can determine how much Electricity you need or want to produce
The amount of electric energy you use is tracked by your electric utility and is available for you to review on your electric bill. If you have bills dating back months or years, these will be the easiest, quickest and most accurate means for you to assess your annual electricity consumption. Once you know how much energy you typically consume you have completed the first step toward choosing the size of wind turbine necessary to offset (partially or totally) your electricity usage.
In designing the Endurance Wind Turbine engineers took the average electricity usage of a household in North America and found that it was somewhere between 9,000 and 12,000 KWH per/yr. We then focused our design and engineering to create an affordable yet efficient wind turbine that in a Class 2 or Class 3 wind zone would generate this amount of energy for an American Household, with the objective of essentially eliminating the costs of utility power for a family.
- You Are comfortable with long term investments
Although Wind Energy Systems require a significant intial investment, they can be competitive with conventional energy sources considering a lifetime of reduced or avoided utility cost. If appropriate for you, Wind Energy is the most cost effective source of Energy compared to Solar or other Renewable systems. Federal and State Tax Incentives may further lower your overall cost.
